Great news. A group from First Baptist Church in Simcoe Ontario are going to Haiti at the end of January. New Mercy will be taking the group down so they can see first hand the work that they have been supporting for a couple of years.
Our goal is to see as many groups that we can possibly take go and see the land and the people themselves. In doing this our hope is that they would catch their own vision and bring it back home.
From these trips we are seeing more and more orphans being supported with sponsorships of our feeding program and the education program.
If you and or a group would like to go to Haiti contact us and we can make the arrangements

Peter and Rick had a very successful trip to England to dismantle the Piper Navajo. The plane was packed up in a container and shipped to Canada. The parts will be sold as a fun raiser for Flights of Hope.

We just returned northern Ontario. We flew in a group of ladies that went to serve the ladies and children of Pikangekum. They were such a blessing to the people on that reserve.
The living conditions there are very harsh and the way of life sometimes seems hopeless. The ladies from Uxbridge Baptist Church brought hope and they just loved on them.
We were honored to help with all the flights from Thunder Bay to Pikangekum and from Winnipeg. Another group flew into Fort Hope to help with the residents there.

We just completed a month long mission in Haiti. This trip consisted of two parts. We had the plane flying the whole time we were there.
Our flights were mainly transporting medical teams and patients from one town to another. There was a group of surgeons from Tennessee that travel to Haiti four times a year to perform operations for heart problems.
They were so pleased to be able to fly to the outer places of the country which normally would have taken many hours to get there by car. The saved time gave them more opportunities to see more of the sick.
They would like Flights of Hope to be there every time they are there. The doctors have a arrangement with a hospital in the Dominican Republic where they can perform the operations.
The problem is transporting the patients and family to Santiago. It could take two full days of driving with the sick patient just to get there. We can fly them to Santiago from almost anywhere in Haiti in about 1 1/2 hours. This would be a great benefit for everyone involved.
We are looking at the logistics of this service right now. We need to come up with on going funding for this project.
The good news is that we have volunteer pilots and aircraft mechanics all willing to give their time and resourses to make these trips happen.
During the time in Haiti we had a team come down from Belleville Ontario to minister with the orphanages. We also had some school teachers come and they were able to put on some teaching workshops for many of the local teachers in Haiti.
A nurse also came along who able able to see some of the sick in our area. She also had an opportunity to become part of a new project in aplace called Welsh. A new medical clinic is being established there it will become a center piece for the community.
We are palnning new trips back to Haiti and if you are interested in going on a trip just contact us.
The plane is now heading north to the native reserves in northern Ontario.

Flights of Hope are preparing to go back to Haiti early in the new year. It has been almost a year since we were busy flying relief aid around Haiti.
There is still a lot of work that needs to be done and still a need for aircraft to move workers and supplies around.
Flights of Hope has answered the call once again.
Along with food and medicines FoH has made arrangements for delivery of 10,000 pairs of shoes and have seen 2500 lbs of books for schools get to Haiti.
